I stumbled across a bunch of rocks; big, small, smooth, rough, and they all had one obvious thing in common - they were painted! The rocks were from a themed activity for kids and the great thing about painting rocks is that you're only limited by imagination. . .pretty much anything goes! To sum up what I found -- Halloween ROCKS!
Any skill level, any kind of rock.
Not only is it a fun activity, you can use your rock(s) for decoration(s) for whatever theme you choose.
Now some rock purists would say painting a rock ruins the rock, but I see a different side; painting rocks could ultimately get kids interested in rocks! After painting their first rock they may want to do more and go out looking for just the right rock, or maybe even bring a whole bag home. And you know when they're looking for rocks they are going to find some pretty cool looking ones and perhaps choose not to paint the 'cool' rocks. Hopefully that leads to looking for more 'cool' rocks and collecting them, etc... I figure any exposure to a rock hobby is good for the rock community as a whole. Right?
Painted rocks aren't just for decoration, they can be useful, too.
Game pieces, too.
There you have it, another fun thing about rocks.
Thank you for stopping by.
