Breakin' Rockin' NEWS!

The NEWS 'broke' today, Aug. 27, 2014 - at least that's the date on the article:

"Racetrack Playa Mystery in Death Valley Solved"

YaY!

But before I tell you how it was solved, have a look below and see if you thought the same things I did.

For as long as I can remember this phenomenon of the "sailing stones" has had me mystified  - it's kinda freaky, yah?  In fact just last week I posted something about this in my "Mixed Bag". 

Over the years, I've spent many hours looking at the photos and thinking over the theories.....

- I thought that maybe that some small part of it had to do with the shape of the rocks, long and low.....

? ? ?

 - but that idea lasted about two minutes and then I saw this; huge, tall rocks too!

 !!!

Chasing?  Racing?  Baffling! 

You got to be kiddin' me, sharp, right angle turns?

Line of scrimmage?  What the...heck.....

- And then I saw this photo and it blew my mind.  A whole community of rocks traveling along, big, small, going opposite directions, making sharp turns, curves, and even three rocks met up together for a 'social'  -  O.O!  Do you see them?  Left side, mid way up.  Can you believe that?  !!!

So, here we are, August 27, 2014, and the scientists have figured it out.  I was so excited to read all about it.  It's pretty neat.  Here's your opportunity to find out, too.

I guess I kind of liked having that cool mystery rolling around in my thoughts, and now that it's over, I'm kinda bummed.   :(   Oh well, that just means I need to find another rockin' mystery and start the fun again!
